How do I add a bookmark in myWKU?
Environment
Resolution
- Click the icon on the top left.
- Scroll down to the Bookmarks module (typically located on the left hand side).
- Click Add.
- Select Bookmark from the dropdown.
- In the Add a Bookmark pop up window:
- Enter your Bookmark Name.
- Enter your Bookmark URL.
Note: You must include http:// or https:// in your URL. - Select a Folder for the bookmark. If no folders have been created previously select Top Level.
- Click Add Bookmark.

How do I log into myWKU?
Resolution
- Navigate to the myWKU login page.
- Click Sign In.
- Enter your NetID.
- Enter your NetID Password.
- Click Sign In.
- Authenticate with Duo, if prompted.
Note: You must be currently enrolled in classes or an active Faculty/Staff member to access myWKU.

Where is the campus directory in MyWKU?

Cause
The Home, Student, and Faculty/Staff tabs in MyWKU display different information.
Resolution
- Log into MyWKU.
- Click the (home icon).
- The campus directory search is located in the top-right section of the page.

- Click the button next to the folder to be edited.

Issue/Question
Can the WKU ITS Service Desk provide me with the password for any of my accounts?
Resolution
We are unable to view passwords for accounts. Users can use the accounts page to try resetting a password for any of their WKU accounts.
Note: Users using Guest Accounts will need to contact their sponsor in order to get the password.

Issue/Question
Where can I look up how much free printing allocation I have left?
Resolution
- Log into PaperCut Portal.
Note: You must be on campus or logged into the WKU VPN to access this link. - On the Summary tab, two balances are listed. The value under BALANCE is your remaining free print allocation. Free print allocation is issued once a year in August. Unused print allocation does not roll over to the next year. Once you have exhausted your free print allocation you must pay for printing using Big Red Dollars.

My display name is showing up as something other than my preferred first name, how can I get that changed?

Students
Note: If you need your legal first or last name updated you should contact the Registrar's Office at 270-745-3351.
- Log into TopNet.
- Click Continue Login.
- Click Personal Information.
- Click Name Change Information.
- Type in your preferred first name.
- Click Submit New Preferred Name or Remove Preferred Name.
Employees
Note: If you need your legal first or last name updated you should contact Human Resources at 270-745-5360.
- Log into TopNet.
- Click Continue Login.
- Click Personal Information.
- Click Name Change Information.
- Type in your preferred first name.
- Click Submit New Preferred Name or Remove Preferred Name.
Alumni
Alumni should contact the Alumni Association at 270-745-2586 to update their preferred first name on file. If you have a preferred first name, and no longer want that as the display name, then you will need to have that removed on file.

Issue/Question
When I attempt accessing Blackboard from myWKU I receive the following error message:

Resolution
- Refer to related article Clearing Cache (Firefox) to begin the troubleshooting process.
- If the first article does not resolve the error then please refer to the second article Installing Firefox and reinstall Firefox.
- If the second article does not resolve the error then the next step is clearing the %appdata% folder for Mozilla Firefox.
Note: Erasing this folder will permanently delete any bookmarks the user has. It is recommended the user backup their bookmarks if they are wanting to keep them. - Select the Start Menu button.
- In the search bar type %appdata% and press Enter.
- Right-click on the Mozilla folder.
- Select Delete.
- Run Firefox.

Issue/Question
Firefox quits responding when using myWKU.
Environment
- Firefox Quantum ESR (Extended Support Release)
Cause
Improper settings can cause Firefox Quantum ESR to stop responding properly.
Resolution
- Open Firefox.
- Click the menu in the upper-right corner.
- Select Options.
- Click General.
- Scroll down to Performance.
- Uncheck Use recommended performance settings.
- Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available.
- Change Content process limit from 4 down to 2.
- Close Firefox.
- Reopen Firefox.
